Ilha Grande is the largest island in the region and belongs to the municipality of Angra dos Reis. The Island has more than a hundred beaches!!!! some of them reachable as a one -day excursion.
Cassandre and Jean-Antoine, who traveled with us, says:
Untouched nature is the Pantanal’s greatest attractions. The animals, in all their glory, live by the rhythms of the annual rise and fall of the rivers and the alternation of rainy and dry seasons. There are 1700 plant species, 80 mammal species, 50 reptile species, 1100 species of butterflies and 650 species of birds, many of which are migratory
and remain here for only part of the year. Wood ibises, alligators, capybara and other animals abound. Photographers as Cassandre and Jean-Antoine, who visited the Pantanal with ITS – Discover Brazil, found themselves in paradise.
The largest gemstone aquamarine in the world, named Don Pedro and extracted in Minas Gerais in the 80s, was donated Thursday by a couple of Americans to the National Museum of Natural History in Washington and will be part of the display permanent institution.
The raw crystal, cut in the shape of obelisk was given to the museum by a couple from Florida. The piece weighs more than 2 kg and measuring 36 cm in height. “After passing through several hands and museums in Europe, was owned by the couple, with whom I made contact and we hit your donation to the museum so that everyone can admire this wonder so special,” he said in an interview with EFE curator of the exhibition, Jeffrey Post. A beautiful sunset in the Amazon.
Our client Kris sent us this photo and wrote about it: “Our favorite part of our trip was our visit to the Amazon Rain Forest where we stayed an the Amazonas Ecopark Jungle Lodge. The facility was excellent, and the staff wonderful. Our tour guid Euyris was amazing, so personable fun, funny, warm and intelligent. I thought the 4 days in the Amazon might be a bit much since I am not so outdoorsy, but it ended up being the best part of the 10 day trip. We end to the Meeting of the Waters which was incredible, and took a walk in the rain forest and saw monkeys and Indian Villages and took boat tours, it was all so beautiful.”
Thank you for sharing this, Kris!
See the beauty of Amazon in the interesting photos 😉
